Ukuleles

Pepe Romero is now making tenor ukuleles in addition to his guitars!

Driven by recent trips to Hawaii, his wife’s and daughter’s desire for a ukulele, and the passing of a good friend, ukulele virtuoso John King, Pepe decided to build ukuleles as of May 2011. Using a 1947 Martin Tenor ukulele for inspiration, and 15 years of classical and flamenco guitar building experience, Pepe’s ukuleles are old school and have been very well received. Every ukulele that Pepe builds is one of a kind.

Pepe's ukuleles and mini guitars are in great demand. They are considered to be among the best instruments of their kind on the market. For Pepe his #1 focus is on tonal beauty, power, clarity and warmth. His waiting list is around 3 to 4 years for new orders.

The ukuleles are made under that label “Pepe Ukulele.”   Pepe Ukulele is now available at  Hawaii Music SupplyGuitar Salon InternationalUkulele SourcePepe Ukulele JapanAnacapa Ukulele, and The Norwegian Guitar Center.   The available combinations are spruce top and rosewood body, all koa, all mahogany, spruce top and koa body, spruce top and mahogany body, spruce top and flamed maple body.  Pepe’s ukuleles are built with a Spanish heel neck joint.  The top and back are both arched.  Pepe is using well seasoned wood which he has been collecting over his entire career.  All ukuleles come with an all wood rosette and wood binding.
